New Kit: Voice of Saturn ~Modulator
recompas's new kit lets you add tremelo, chopping, and AM (amplitude modulation) effects to audio. It's got a VCA (voltage controlled amplifier), function generator that can produce and warp triangle waves, and an Attack / Release envelope generator.

The video is too short! I have a question: with the guitar, can the AM get solidly up into psuedo-ring mod range? At the end of the guitar clip, it sounded like it sort of got up there, but then you stopped.

Did that make sense?

hi,
in its current state, the lfo can go up to 100 hz, giving some nice audio range AM effects. If you wanted it to go higher, you’d just have to change out the timing capacitor to move the range up for even more extreme AM (psuedo ring mod efx).

Additionally, if you feed a tone or high rate control voltage into the CV2 input of the VCA, you can also get some ring mod sounding effects (again, more amplitude modulation). This works especially well using the VoS synth as the input to CV2 and guitar as the audio input (that’s whats at the end of the video). takes some knob fiddling but you can get a lot of different sounds like metallic clangs or distortion.
