admin: Duplicated from the How To forum

I saw your instructable comments on Mr. M’s page and it sounded to me like you know your stuff. I may have a job for you, a job that may be alittle beyond you, but i’m willing to cooperate. So…

Give me a step-by-step guide on how to solder a 14-guage copper wire to a small split wire, don’t care what size. We would just like to see your handiwork some more.

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by a small split wire. Could you upload a pic or provide a link to a picture?

Some general advice for soldering wires together:

  • Tin both wires
  • twist them together or clamp them so your hands are free to hold an iron and solder
  • heat the wires from one side, apply solder from the other.

hope this helps.
