Hello!
I posted a video of my newly completed Voice of Saturn Sequencer and an initial-impressions review over here:

Thanks again for making this kit available! I look forward to building the next VoS module!

awesome vid! And thanks for the review. I checked out the build-your-own-clone instructions, and was wondering if you had any specific things that could use some work in mind. Like, recommending tools? I thought showing finished pictures of the boards would be more helpful than just saying “10k” goes here. On the next update I’ll try to remember to share your advice to get multi-colored wire, it’s a little insane without that. And on the LED holders, they can be a pain if not installed just right… I’ll try to clarify that on the instructions, too. thanks again for the feedback.
Thanks Scott!
Seeing the finished product PCB definitely helped me out. The wiring diagram is what tripped me up, if only for the fact that I didn’t know where to start. Some recommendations to that end (begin here, then do this, then do this, etc.) would have been great, though once I got going my apprehension as to “what to do next” disappeared completely.
Just updated the sequencer page to add your video and a link to your review. Made a few tweaks to the instructions regarding the LED holders. thanks again for the feedback!
Hi Scott of Shamblers!
I was listening to Scott McDowells show the other week and heard you guys there.
(great set, btw!)
as i was checking out the Shamblers blog, I spotted the Voice of Saturn you had built. ..i ordered one seconds later!
long and short of it: i finished my VOC build last night without a problem, plugged it in and the lil’ devil sure does Howl and Throb.

(Doh! i meant so say Peter of Shamblers..)
anyhoo. the VOC is really a wonderful device. There’s really a huge range of sound available!
(I’m certainly going to build the VOS-Sequencer.)
I had no problems whatsoever with the build.. instructions were nice and clear. the hardware diagram and schematic of course are essential.
Really cool that you put this kit together Scott! Thanks!
I was definitely surprised by how much you can get out of such a simple circuit…
recompas (Travis) is actually the inventor of the kit. CuriousInventor handles all the “details”, like inventory, shipping, orders, kitting, manufacturing of the cases, etc., and then we write him a monthly check.
