This converts a PS2 controller into a MIDI controller. The current firmware supports remapping of the
buttons to different notes or controllers. It's based on a PIC microchip--full,
explained source code and instructions for making modifications are supplied. As
a promotional start, there will be several cash prizes (thru paypal) for feature
additions. See the rest of the kit page for details.

This power supply module plugs straight into common bread boards, allowing you to
cleanly and easily power your board with a wall wart plug or with wires into screw terminals. It
features a variable voltage regulator that can be set to output 3.3 or 5V with a jumper,
or any voltage if a potentiometer is added. The input has a rectifier that accepts
AC or DC (polarity doesn't matter)--just make sure the input is about 2V greater
than the output you want. Skill level: beginner

The Roboduino is a Freeduino (Arduino software compatible) microcontroller board designed
for robotics. All of its connections have neighboring power buses into which
servos and sensors can easily be plugged. Additional headers for power and serial
communication are also provided. The kits come with the surface mount parts pre-soldered.
Skill level: Beginner to intermediate.

This kit lets you add up to two serial ports to a Linksys WRT54G(L)
router. By re-flashing your router, you can run custom code
to turn it into a wireless "routerBot" that controls servos, or talks
to other electronics via serial (like an iPod or RS-232 port on a
computer). Each port can use either TTL or RS-232 levels depending
on wiring.
Skill level: Intermediate - requires
fairly simple surface mount soldering.

Each Stribe1 has a touch strip and double column of LEDs that can display and control
music and video programs. Multiple Stribe1's can be daisy-chained
together to form a low-res, multi-touch display. Use with Max/MSP or other software to
adjust track volumes with VU meters, make a sequencer, control synth params and pitch,
"scratch" through sounds, etc. A microcontroller interface like the Arduino is required.
Skill level: Intermediate - not hard, but a fair amount
of through-hole soldering.

Loosely based on the Atari Punk Console with
some custom tweaks and an LFO front end, this box makes a ridiculous amount of different sounds (mp3 coming soon), all from
three 555s. Watch the video or download the mp3 for some samples. Comes as a bare-bones kit, an everything-kit
with knobs and case, and a fully-assembled and tested version. It's open source and has small area on the pcb
for easy circuit bending. Comes in a bare-bones kit, everything-kit, and fully assembled version.

This unit has a joystick or Voltage Controlled low-pass filter. It accepts two
inputs that are summed and also voltage controllable (or knob). The joystick is
modular, and can be patched to control or attenuate other equipment.

This is a 10 step analog sequencer, which basically steps through 10 different voltage levels that are set by the black knobs. The output control voltage and trigger signals are typically used to control pitch, filters, drum triggers and an endless number of other parameters on other synths. It's based on a decade counter chip (CD4017) driven by a 555 timer (clock), although it can also use an external clock signal. The sequence can be shortened by connecting an eigth-inch audio cable from the reset jack on top to one of the step's jacks. It features both a gate output and a S-trigger output for Moog synths. This unit has a VCA (voltage controlled amplifier), triangle and square wave generator
and AR (Attack / Release) envelope shaper. Together, they can be used to add tremolo
or AM (amplitude modulation) effects to audio signals, and also add attack and release ramps to control
signals.
There are two summing CV inputs, as well as an "Instant On" button that maxes out the control voltage.
The triangle output can be adjusted into a quasi square wave with adjustable duty-cycle (% on
or off in each cycle). This gives you a chopper effect that can be used to fade out a sound by
chopping larger and larger chunks each cycle.
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate... a fair amount of wiring.

Designed for our VoS line of DIY modules (w/ David @ uCHobby.com), this supplies +- voltage, has screw holes for mounting and comes with a panel mount jack for an AC wall adapter. Both voltages are finely adjustable. Perfect for op-amp circuits that require +- voltage.
