The cutting edges of most cutters are offset from the bottom surface of the tool blades, which limits how close to a surface they can cut. These cutters can trim leads completely flush with a surface, if needed. The blades are also angled so that they can remain flush to the working surface while the handles are elevated away where there is room to grip them. The handles are covered with comfortable padding.
